Tour Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Leh
Upon arrival at Leh airport you will be greeted by our representative. Our representative will assist you in the smooth transfer from the Leh Airport to the hotel wherein you can relax and freshen up. Lunch will be followed by a local exploration of the nearby places including restaurants and markets where you will get time to interact with the locals. Stay at the hotel for the night.
Day 02: Leh to Spituk to Zinchen( 4Hrs – 3200 m)
Today Morning after breakfast drive to Spituk. Spituk is another interesting place where the monks live( monastery). This was founded in 11 century by Od-De, Od-De was the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub-od. This is on the hilltop near River Indus. Later proceed to the Valley of ZincheRiver a walk toward Zingchen crossing the Indus river. Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 03: Zinchen to Yurutse ( 5hrs – 3844 m)
Start your trek toward Yurutse, which is around 4900 meters , and the Stok –La is 4900 meters . Then cross the valley to a zigzag steep path to Stok-La, To reach the summer pastures of Stok one need to steep descent and follow the river which comes from stok – Kangri massif. You can enjoy the full day trek and reach Yurutse. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 04: Yurutse to Ganda La ( 4900 m) to Skiu ( 7 hrs – 3510 m)
Morning you need to start your journey to Skiu via Ganda La. You need to follow the path by mountain side. You have to cross the small valley and take the zigzag path, then cross the Gandala. Slide down towards Shingo. You could reach the Markhavalley moving downwards after 2 hours. You can reach Skiu a few hundred meters further. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 05: Skiu to Markha( 7hrs – 3850 m)
After breakfast start your trek towards river Markha. You can view the greenery of the valley. After crossing the right bank of the river. You will arrive at Chaluk village. Trek for a short while, then you would reach the beautiful Markha village. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 06: Markha to Hankar( 4hrs – 4000 m)
Next day morning trek towards the main valley on the right bank. Due to high current of the river, it would be difficult to do trek sometimes while passing through the monastery of Humlung. Continue trekking you would arrive in Hankar. At Hankar you can interact with the settler’s.Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 07: Hankar to Nimaling ( 4hrs – 4650 m)
On the 8th day of your trip to Laddakh start your journey in the morning to Nimaling. Start trek further across the valley. This valley is higher and narrow further. On the left bank of the river you need to cross the bridges and then you can reach Tachatchutse. You need to walk near a small lake, then cross the pastures toNimaling. This is the most beautiful valley. Kang Yaze peak rules the valley with its beauty. Trek up towards the other side and you can reach Nimaling. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 08: Nimaling to Knogmarula( 5150 m) - Shang Sumdo ( 7 hrs – 3750 m)
Cross over theMarkha valley and follow the long climb along with mountain side. To reach Kongmaur La you need to follow the zigzag road. Reach Chukirmo by keeping left of the bank and by keeping right of the bank and then left of the bank you can reach Shang.. Visit the place where the monk lives that is an hour journey from the camp. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 09: Shang Sumdo to Hemis( 4hrs – 3600 m)
After breakfast be prepared for 4 hrstrekking .Hemis Monastery is the largest in Ladakh. This was built in 1630. The annual festival would be held every year in the month of June _July. Back to the camp and rest for the day and enjoy the beautiful view near the camp. Overnight stay in the camp.
Day 10: Hemis to Thikse to Shey to Leh
Next day morning travel to visit the Shey Monastery. This monastery is located on the hillock and you can view the 7.5 meters high Buddha image in this temple.The temple was built by King DeldanNamgyal in the memory his father. This is the biggest metal statue and made of copper and platted with gold in Ladakh. Journey toward Thiksey Monastery, this monastery has 12 storey monastery complex contains, thankas, wall paintings, statues, swords and numerous stupas. This is 20 km away m Leh. Upon arrival to hotel, check-in and rest and then visit the nearby place of Leh and market. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 11: Departure from Leh
Today morning after breakfast transfer to Leh airport to board the flight for onward destination.
